Inclusion: Are We There Yet? EmpowerHer Joins the Conversation on Inclusive Workplaces in Cyprus

On 17 June 2026, the Centre for Competence Development Cyprus (COMCY), in collaboration with Eurosuccess Consulting, hosted the event “Inclusion: Are We There Yet?” at the Gardens of the Future in Nicosia. The evening brought together employers, HR professionals, migrant women, community representatives and inclusion advocates to discuss workplace diversity and employability in Cyprus.

The EmpowerHer project was a central part of the programme. Participants were introduced to the EmpowerHer Onboarding Toolbox, a free collection of practical activities that helps employers and HR teams support the integration of migrant women. Its resources cover the whole journey, from recruitment and onboarding to mentoring, check-ins and inclusive team-building.

Attendees also saw the EmpowerHer Training Programme and WebApp, which help migrant women entering or re-entering the workforce build skills in communication, cultural sensitivity, teamwork, problem solving, digital skills, job search preparation and self-presentation. By offering flexible and practical learning, EmpowerHer aims to strengthen confidence and employability.

The panel discussion, “Bridging Inclusion and Employment: From Dialogue to Action”, was moderated by Irini Iacovidou, Head of Projects Department at Eurosuccess Consulting. The speakers were Anna Prodromou (DEI Expert and Trainer, President of the WICZ+ Foundation), Valerie Badilla (Founder & COO of Artemis Intelligence and Director at the European Network of Filipino Diaspora) and Constantina Elena Pirillou (Specialist in Migration and Immigration Services in Cyprus). They discussed barriers such as access to information, legal employment procedures, language, workplace culture and professional networks, as well as how employers can move from intention to concrete action. The key message was that inclusion is a shared responsibility that requires awareness, leadership and consistent action.

The networking reception that followed doubled as the project’s Job Discovery Opportunity, which led to three matches. Migrant women from the EmpowerHer training programme spoke directly with Artemis Intelligence (AI company based in Nicosia), an employment agent supporting migrant women, and Alphamega HR representatives. Artemis Intelligence offered an internship to one participant, the employment agent shared practical insights into the logistics sector, and Alphamega exchanged contact details with a group of women, opening a direct route to future vacancies.

This is what EmpowerHer is about: turning skills and confidence into pathways to employment. Our thanks go to all participants, panellists, employers and supporters, and we look forward to more connections like these.
